Elinor is a licensed and board-certified Speech-Language Pathologist with four years of experience in both outpatient and acute care settings. Since completing her Master's program at the University of Texas at Austin, she has focused her practice on evaluating and treating disorders of voice and swallowing, including those related to head and neck cancer. Her experience across the spectrum of care - from critically ill and medically complex patients to active and functional outpatients - has strengthened her perspective on big-picture management and analysis of each patient's case.
Elinor's experience and training have allowed her to offer in-house instrumental swallow studies, through completion of Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) with sensory testing. Once formally assessed, Elinor is certified to provide systematic, exercise-based swallowing therapy using the McNeil Dysphagia Therapy Program (MDTP). In addition to management of swallowing disorders, Elinor provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of voice and upper airway disorders. She is also a certified provider for SPEAK OUT!, a program tailored for those with Parkinson's disease who struggle to maintain vocal loudness. Elinor's drive for these populations is simple: to enhance communication confidence and effectiveness, and to allow patients to eat food safely and efficiently.
Elinor is passionate about providing individualized, evidence-based, and patient-centered care. She believes that each patient's personal voice and swallowing goals should be the epicenter of their treatment plan. Her established relationships with local physicians and SLPs encourage multidisciplinary collaboration in the management of all voice and swallowing cases.
In her free time, you can find Elinor enjoying coffee on the porch with her fiancé and cat, reading a novel, spending time in nature, or making stained-glass art.
