Michael J. Yium, MD
Dr. Michael Yium came to Texas from Colorado in 1988 to attend The University
of Texas at Austin. He graduated with high honors with a degree in electrical
engineering before starting medical school at Baylor College of Medicine.
Following medical school, Dr. Yium completed two years of general surgery
training at Parkland Memorial Hospital. He then completed his Otolaryngology
- Head & Neck Surgery training at the University of Texas Southwestern
Medical Center in Dallas before moving to Austin to start private practice.
Dr. Yium was elected into the medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha,
in 1997. He is a member of the Travis County Medical Society and the American
Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery and is Board Certified
in otolaryngology
His practice includes evaluation and treatment of many head and neck
disorders including: sinusitis, nasal obstruction, allergy, snoring and
sleep apnea, thyroid nodules, chronic ear disease, dizziness, voice disorders,
and head and neck cancer. Dr. Yium enjoys treating both pediatric and
adult patients, and he is affiliated with several hospitals including:
South Austin Hospital, Seton, Seton SW, St. David's, Brackenridge Hospital,
and Children's Hospital.
In his off time, Dr. Yium enjoys spending time with his wife and two
children. Together they are active in many outdoor activities such as
biking, running, hiking, skiing, and travel.
