Dr. Tobey received his MD from the University of Texas Medical School in Galveston then served an internship in general surgery. He completed his residency there in Otolaryngology in 1979. Dr. Tobey has military experience and served in the U.S. Public Health Service as a General Medical Officer. He also served as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston for 18 years. Dr. Tobey is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology, and is a member (fellow) of these medical organizations: the American Academy of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery, the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American College of Surgeons, and of TMA, AMA, and TCMS, and serves on national committees for the American Academy of Otolaryngology. Dr. Tobey's group practice is Austin Ear, Nose, and Throat Clinic, and his solo practice is at Northwest Austin Ear, Nose, and Throat Clinic.
